Module 12 promotes an ethically informed practice in child protection that combines respect and protective action.
This module focusses on ethical issues in child protection. Ethics in child protection encompass both action and attitude, with implications for what we do and how we do it. For example, a professional could act with care and respectfulness yet still fail to take any protective action, another may be sharp and unsympathetic but take protective action. The module promotes an ethically informed practice that combines the two, respect plus protective action, it introduces ethical reflections on the various aspects of consented and unconsented practice.
