The German MAPChiPP train the trainer seminar took place July 10-12 in Heidelberg. We had fantastic conditions again. The bright and spacious meeting room was perfectly prepared as were our outstanding trainers Christine Gerber and Dr. Heinz Kindler – this time supported by Dr. Thomas Meysen. We had 16 curious participants from all over Germany eager to get and discuss new impluses. All of them are experienced practitioners from various disciplines in child protection who do trainings themselves or function as multipliers in their fields. All participants very much appreciated the unusally heterogeneous seminar group and everybody made use of this excellent opportunity to discuss questions of collaboration and participation in child protection across disciplinary borders. Accoringly, thought-provoking discussions and enlighting discussions evolved based on the MAPChiPP input. The Assessment Framework for Children in Need an Their Families was very much valued as a potentially highly useful tool for multi-disciplinary cooperation in child protection. Excercises, breaks and evening program was intensively used to exchange perspectives and deepen mutual understanding. Thanks to our interested participants and the commited trainers – this was another extremely successful MAPChiPP seminar!
